I’m in discussion with Lisa-Marie and a student midwife in Nottingham called Jo – as you know Ishbel has been really helpful with leaflet content. I think we’ll use email to sort it out so we can include Jo in the discussions – shall I add you Linda?

What does everyone think about the sections we’ve made? I think it looks pretty good … I added some descriptions. We can have whatever sections we like but do have to make sure that people regularly post to all the sections or they get very sad.
Another section might be for aspiring midwives to ask questions about their applications etc? Aspiring midwives. Support for anyone considering a career in midwifery. (or something) This is one of our biggest untapped ‘markets’ imho.
Argh I just typed a long post on my little laptop then it crashed so I lost it. This is my phone… Not quite so easy..
Anyway – was thinking about sections – had a look at a couple of other forums. How about a section for ‘Introductions’ in the members bit? Saying something like ‘Whether you’re new to ARM or just new to the forum, post here for a warm welcome’ or something… The IMUK forum has sections such as ‘Breastfeeding’ ‘care during birth’ etc but the sections aren’t well used – in fact people just post new topics in the main forum (is this what you meant Hilary?)I think Hilary meant threads rather than sections?
We also had a proper forum for the last few years with ‘Freeforums’ which is what Hilary is talking about, not the Yahoo group … but as Linda says it’s been deactivated.
Petra, is there a way to upload documents? We could have a section then called ‘Files’ or ‘Documents’ or something. Then every time some minutes are produced, or a report – it can get uploaded and stored there? I don’t think there’s anything sensitive there so it could be accessible for members, not just the SG?
I’ll have to go on the PA forum to get some ideas 🙂
