Charlotte Clayton
ParticipantHi, I’m Charlotte, I have just joined after years of meaning to! I am a midwife and PhD Researcher at Bournemouth University. My research interests are vast but my doctoral research aims to examine the relationship between continuity, outcomes and experiences of women who live in poverty in the UK. If anyone else is writing about this topic and would like to get in touch please feel free to do so, my email address is at the bottom of my introduction.
I namely joined the ARM to connect with other like-minded midwives and to find a sense of community. I live in Bournemouth, so If anyone else is near to me please get in touch.

ModeratorHi Charlotte,
It’s great that you’ve joined! I’ll ask our lovely membership secretary, Irene Walton, to check who is in your area. You are certainly doing a very relevant PhD!
I do know that Phoebe Pallotti in Nottingham has done some work I think may be of interest and I’m sure she would love to learn about your work. :bye:

ParticipantHi Charlotte,
I’m an Independent Midwife (with a tiny substantive NHS contract) based in Birmingham. I’m happy to travel to support birth in far flung places where women want midwifery care off a UK trained midwife.
I trained as a midwife in 1987 at The Jessops Hospital in Sheffield and was lucky enough to have the amazing Ann Garner as my Community Midwife mentor. I then went to work abroad in the Middle East for 11 years. When I returned to the UK I started a degree in Nursing Practice (Public Health) through the OU. I completed my Masters in Advancing Healthcare Practice in 2017 – so am always looking at the evidence to support midwifery practice.
Looking forward to networking with other midwives.
